Back to School 2020

Back to school 2020 has been a little different this year. Well, it's been a lot different. The uncertainty that has plagued all things 2020 has affected plans for the 2020-2021 school year. There have been so many debates about what the best and safest option for our kids and teachers. This school year is unprecedented with the the different options for how our children will learn. Most of these options have been around for years, but this year there is a new light being shown on all the different options for going back to school.

  • Remote Learning (or Distance Learning)
  • In-Person Learning (or On-Campus Learning)
  • Hybrid Schedule (or Flex-Learning)
  • Homeschooling
  • Virtual Learning (stand-alone Virtual Schools like K12 or iSchool)
  • Micro-schools (small neighborhood schools like Prenda)

Every family is different, and what is right for each family can be different too. Adriane, with Raising Kids with Purpose, basically takes the words right out of my mouth and explains the complexities so well in her blog post on sending kids back to school

Adriane writes:

"Do What Will Work Best for You and Your Child

This is where I encourage parents with the… “You know your child best.”

The fact of the matter is that, right now, there is no perfect answer. There probably won’t ever be.

You must consider your child’s personality, temperament, skill level, etc. You must also consider your personality, interest level, and availability! This is a situation where it may actually be helpful to write down your options, consider the advantages and disadvantages of each, and proceed with confidence knowing there is no perfect answer.

Try to find a good enough answer based on your family’s circumstances."

This year, I wanted to do something a little special for back to school photos. I wanted to create classic school portraits that would also show that it's okay to choose any type of learning that is right for your child and your family.

These little cuties may not be going back to school but they still wanted to be part of the fun!

This year is different for parents and teachers too so I had to do some fun ones showing that too! (Cameo by yours truly😆 )

I had so much fun making my vision for Back to School Photos come to life! This year is different, but there is no reason we can't still celebrate it and make memories!!

I got my awesome chalk graphics from Squijoo and Freepik! Check them out!
